Esthetician

You’ll be trained in anatomy, dermatology and chemistry in this certificate program, and you'll work directly with customers at our in-house M State salon, so you can confidently begin your career as a practiced and knowledgeable esthetician. When you’ve completed 600 hours of clinical time, you’ll be eligible to take the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology exams required for licensure. 

Estheticians provide skin care treatments to the face and body, including facials, full-body treatments, waxing and sugaring, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, makeup applications and more. 

You’ll learn:

• Technical procedures to perform the skills required of estheticians
• Ethical and professional behaviors and human relations skills within a salon environment
• State regulations for licensed estheticians
• Minnesota sanitation standards and laws for estheticians
• Evaluation of disorders or diseases that should be referred to a physician
• Preparation, use and safety of all salon equipment and supplies 
• Preparation of chemical formulas and knowledge of products used for esthetic services
